The carriage museum is run by a local volunteer group called the Friends of the Flitch Way. It is split into two sections. The first contains a working railway model of Rayne Station along with numerous photos and objects from the railway line that used to run between Braintree and Bishops Stortford. The second part has a seating area and you are allowed to take light refreshments from the Booking Hall Cafe and enjoy them in the carriage whilst learning about the Flitch Way Country Park and the work the volunteers do to help maintain it.The museum is normally open at the weekends between 11 and 3 and often on a Tuesday and Thursday in the school summer holidays. It is good to combine with a walk or cycle along the Flitch Way.
